Free Range Ducks
Our free range ducks enjoy the wide open spaces to roam with their feathered friends.
As with all the poultry at Woolley Park Farm, we buy the ducklings in as day-old chicks and raise them slowly to maturity.
We let the ducks out into the open at about 4 weeks old, once they have had enough time to develop their strength.
The ducks, as with the geese, benefit particularly well from being dry-plucked and hung as it preserves the layer of fat under the skin (holding lots and lots of flavour) and enhances their already superbly succulent flesh.
Slaughtering Ages for the Ducks is 12 – 16 weeks.
